Community Sports Leadership Awards

This option is for anybody who is interested in sports leadership, especially those wanting to work with children. The course aims to prepare responsible, motivated and confident young people who can lead safe, purposeful and enjoyable sport/activity sessions under direct supervision. The CSLA course is not only a fun and practical experience but it also leads to a formal qualification and students are continually assessed from day one. Full attendance at all elements of the course is required for the qualification to be awarded.

The course also includes a compulsory HSE approved first aid qualification, delivered by a professional company and valid for three years. The school will cover the cost of the first aid course which is £40 per student and this will take place in addition to the PDP course: likely to be two sessions of 3 hours each (Weds afternoons /after school t.b.c.). Please note that failure to attend the first aid course will result in the student being asked to pay the £40.

Committed students will find this a valuable course if they wish to go into coaching, teaching, youth work or the leisure industry.
