January 2013 - We have now given £3000 to school to help fund The Big Read - a project in school aimed at giving books to children.

ST CRUX - TUESDAY 19TH FEBRUARY

We raised £450 from this event with Huntington Memorial Hall raising £150 and Huntington Primary raising £100.  Thank you to all who donated, baked, helped out or came to the event.

RACE NIGHT - FRIDAY 22ND MARCH - 7pm

Tickets cost just £2 each for this family event.  Contact friendsofhuntingtonschool@gmail.com or Joanne Olsen on 07790 837855 to buy your tickets. 

If you have a business why not consider sponsoring a race at a cost of £20.  You can bring us some leaflets and/or business cards to display on the tables at this event.  

For just £5 you can own a horse in a race.  There are 8 horses in each race.  If your horse wins the race you win the sponsorship of that race.

Bets on the night cost just £1 each.  We have a licensed bar on the night with prices from 50p for a can of pop to £8 for a large bottle of wine.

Come along and have a great fun night with us.  
What better way to support your school than having a great night out at the same time.

Saturday 11th May selling from 9am - access from 8:30am to set up
Space will be available to book indoors £6 and turn up on the day outdoors £5.

This event runs from 11am to 2pm with charity stalls, activity taster sessions etc

 2nd Hand Uniform
We are very short of 2nd Hand Uniform supplies, in particular jumpers and PE kit.  If you have any items of uniform from jumpers, ties, blouses, shirts, trousers, skirts or PE kit that  you can donate to our 2nd Hand Uniform stocks please drop them off at school reception or in the porch at 23 Kingsclere, Huntington.  We wash all items and mend any that need repairing.  We then sell these on at a cost of no more than £3 for a jumper.  Our stock can be seen by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page or going direct to 2nd Hand Uniform page from the Information tab on the home page of the website. 2nd Hand Uniform is now available during the school holidays by contacting Joanne Olsen on 07790 837855 or emailing JoOlsenFOHSY@aol.com.
 

  Bag2School Textile Collection

We are currently waiting to hear what our last collection has raised.

On Sat 25th Feb 2012 we raised £133 from the Bag2School company. 

 The Big Read
We are currently raising money for The Big Read.  This is a project in school aimed at letting children choose a book that they will be able to keep as their own.   There is proof that book ownership helps children to raise their literacy levels.  We hope that by being a reading school and children having books that are their own to keep we will help children to raise their life chances.

If you have any contacts that may be able to help us with an event please get in touch.  We always welcome any input from parents and our local community.  If you would like to be involved, either by becoming a committee member or a helper at our events, we would love to hear from you.

 100 club
We are looking for people who are interested in being involved in a 100 club where you pay £1 a month with the chance of winning up to 50% of the takings each month.  That's better odds than the lottery!  We currently don't have enough people to start this club, but if you would like to be added to our list please email friendsofhuntingtonschool@gmail.com or contact Joanne Olsen by phoning 765229.  We may consider starting this off as a 50 club when we have enough people.

Easyfundraising and Easysearch
An easy way for everyone to help us to raise money is by using Easyfundraising and Easysearch.  By using Easyfundraising every time you shop online, you can raise money without any cost to you.  There are also some ways to raise money without shopping and also vouchers to save you money. With over 2000 retailers you are sure to find a shop you normally use.

 Easysearch is powered by Yahoo and Bing! Every search raises 0.5p which doesn't sound like a lot, but think about how many searches you do as a family each week.
